Dr. Annah Indeche is an esteemed Lecturer of Horticulture at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Kenya. With a Ph.D. in Agriculture from Okayama University in Japan, Dr. Indeche is on a mission to elevate livelihoods through sustainable horticultural crops, with a specific focus on empowering women, youth, and marginalized groups. As an Open Doors fellow, she has dived deep into vertical farming systems, unlocking the secrets of light and root exudation.
Eva Ivy Nyambura is a dedicated research assistant with the NemAfrica unit at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture in Nairobi, Kenya. Additionally, she is coordinating field activities for the Resilient Cities CGIAR initiative. Her work revolves around promoting the adoption of healthy vegetable seedlings to enhance productivity and safety in urban vegetable cultivation, with a strong emphasis on collaboration with local farmers, educational institutions, and various stakeholders to ensure sustainability and health.
